Every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon you can visit our office for a complimentary review of your Admission Agreement.

We call this program Walk-In Wednesdays, and it’s a great way for you to learn your rights and your responsibilities by signing the agreement. We can also explain your options about how to pay for nursing home care.

With Americans living longer than ever before, most seniors will find themselves in a nursing home at some point in their lives. Acknowledging that nursing home care is necessary, finding the right one, and determining how to pay for it are extremely stressful for every member of the family. To top it all off, the nursing home will require you to sign an Admission Agreement. This is a complex, binding contract that carries with it a host of responsibilities for the person who signs it.

There is so much anxiety when a loved one needs skilled nursing care.  By the time you reach the nursing home stage, you already feel drained from the unfamiliar obstacles you face. When you find a good placement for your loved one, you are so relieved that it is human nature to ignore the details of the contract you are asked to sign by the nursing home.  We created Walk-in Wednesday so we can offer an opportunity for the family to better understand the obligations created by signing an admission agreement.

Please bring the following items with you:

  • Nursing Home Admission Agreement
  • Total approximate value of both retirement and non-retirement accounts
  • Power of Attorney (POA), if resident has one
